Entertaiment is a broad and varied concept. It is a force that can bring joy and stimulate learning, but also has the potential to cause harm. It is a powerful medium that can reach across all sorts of boundaries and is constantly adapting to meet new demands. Its familiar forms have demonstrated a remarkable ability to cross over different media and remain popular and relevant for long periods of time. The word entertainment derives from the Latin inter tenere, with the prefix meaning “inside,” and the suffix referring to holding inside or keeping.
