Entertaiment is an activity that provides pleasure, amusement or enjoyment. It can be experienced in many ways including theater, dance, music concerts, comedy shows, movies, television and video games. It has the ability to cross over different mediums and has proven its capacity for creative remix. It is a force that can bring joy and stimulate learning, but it also has the potential to have negative impacts on society if not properly regulated. [1] T E News, Fall 2011.
The word entertainment derives from the Medieval Latin verb intertenere, which means “to hold inside.” It can be considered more base than cerebral in nature, although it does induce emotions and reactions such as laughter and fear.
