Entertaiment is defined as an agreeable or diverting occupation for the mind; diversion; amusement: The daily crossword puzzle is an entertainment for many people. It may also refer to a purely ceremonial or religious festival, an elaborate banquet or other social event, a theatrical or musical performance, or a political or satirical satire. It has become a highly developed activity and can be provided at any scale, from a simple choice of private entertainment to the organisation of a global spectacle. Bates and Ferri (2010) suggest that entertainment is an objectively understood activity, that involves communication between text and audience, comes from external stimulus, offers pleasure, and occurs in a passive form. It is also a central element of children’s play.
